Retro Design

The word “retro” derives from the Latin prefix retro, meaning “backwards, or in past times” – particularly as seen in the words retrograde, implying a movement toward the past instead of a progress toward the future, and retrospective, referring to a nostalgic (or critical) eye toward the past.

There are a lot of elements that can be used to replicate a vintage and retro design. For example, old style typography, old posters, movies, handwriting fonts, old packaging and much more that can easily be created with the right Photoshop vintage brush sets. Whether you are looking to create a some what retro website with the use of single elements like vintage typography or color schemes, or whether you want to create a design that will take you completely back in time, using vintage and retro styles can be both fun and challenging.

Retro design is here to stay. While many admires retro web design. Web designers as well as developers are turning to retro design, it can be difficult to fully embrace the style. The key to retro designs should be inspired on the tone and basis for the playfulness. In 2010, retro design will be expanded as designers find new ways to honor vintage art.
It is only as inspiration for your typography, colors or other items, or create a design that is just as beautiful as feel point of 1920’s, 1940’s old Pictures.

    Hello Eyebridge Team,
that’s Inspiration and Retro together. Not every agency has what it takes to implement this style. You have… I thinking about a internship at your Agency. 🙂
